We pride ourselves on ensuring that our bar prices are lower than you will find in the local pubs around - you won't be faced with those captive audience level of prices!

To give you an idea for 2018, our draught beers, lagers, ciders and stout are all between £3.40 and £3.70 a pint, and our Smirnoff Vodka and Gordans Gin are £2.50 for a single.

In light of these, please do take a moment to read our FAQ about alcohol brought onto site.

We are a fully licensed venue and under no circumstances can guests bring their own alcohol onsite. Any alcohol brought onsite by guests will be confiscated, anything that has been drunk will be subject to a very substantial retrospective corkage charge and guests may also be asked to leave.

Our bar prices are lower than the pubs around us so we ask that you respect our decision to not make the most of a captive audience by not bringing in your own alcohol. We have extensive CCTV on site in all internal and external areas so any alcohol brought in and drunk is easily evidenced! Please note if the corkage payments are refused these will be passed onto the couple the next morning under their contract with us.

We do also allow special dispensation for the couple to bring in their table wine and welcome drinks corkage free under prior arrangement. These drinks can only be drunk up to the end of the meal and no bottles can be taken out of the barn at the end of the meal. Any discovered are liable to a retrospective corkage charge to the couple.

We have responsibilities as a licensed venue that we take very seriously but also are proud to offer bar prices that are less than all the pubs around (which is unique for a venue like ours). This is together with our corkage free offering to couples for their welcome drinks and wine and in addition we also don't charge the couple anything extra for the bar or bar staff for the day - unlike most other venues!

Please respect our decision to offer all of this by not creating issues on the couples special day by bringing in your own alcohol. We don't enjoy having to deal with any circumstances that arise and much prefer people to simply enjoy our great prices and focus on celebrating the big day with the couple.

We have a range of a draught beers and lagers including a local bitter from the award winning micro brewery, Kissingate, 2 lagers, 2 ciders (including Rekorderlig flavoured cider on draught) and Guiness. We also have a very wide range of spirits with both everyday and premium gins and vodkas, wines, prosecco, champagnes and soft drinks - all of what you would expect to find at a good pub!

Last orders are at 11:15 pm with the bar closing at 11:30pm after which no alcohol is served. All guests not staying the night need to have left by midnight.

We accept cash, card, contactless (and some mobile payment solutions like ApplePay) over the bar. There is no minimum payment for card.

Yes - in fact we have our own large dedicated internet cable into Brookfield Barn with guaranteed speeds, combined with an up to date WiFi network.

Despite being in a rural location, we enjoy a strong Vodafone signal at Brookfield Barn. Some other networks can be patchy - whether you see that as a good or bad thing ! We have our own dedicated internet cable so there is strong WiFi signal throughout.

Unfortunately the venue is closed until 15 minutes before the scheduled guest arrival time to allow the venue to be fully prepared for the days celebrations. We are a wedding venue and not a hotel and therefore there are not other public areas available.

Close to Brookfield Barn there are a number of options should you arrive in the area early. If you head left out of the car park towards Horsham, there is a village shop with coffee tables at the end of Winterpit Lane. Heading a short distance further on the road to Horsham you will find Hilliers Garden Centre which has a coffee shop / restaurant and a Bird of Prey centre amongst other attractions. Next door to this is the Hornbrook Public House. Horsham town centre is just 4 miles from Brookfield Barn.

Heading in the other direction towards the A23 there is the Wheatsheaf pub or Handcross village close to the A23 has a coffee shop, is home to Nymans National Trust gardens and has a couple of pubs.

We have a substantial main car park that can serve 60 cars with some overflow parking also available. We do encourage all guests to consider car sharing arrangements or taxis. The top car park should not be used by guests and all drop offs should also be in the main car park - there is no access to the guest areas from the top car park.

Disabled parking for Blue badge holders is available through the top car park by prior agreement only. This should be raised through the couple and not direct with us at Brookfield Barn.

Should you wish to leave your car overnight this can be arranged for a limited number of cars. If you intend to do this please register your intention with the couple so they can manage capacity. All cars left overnight must be collected by 10am or could be subject to an unauthorised parking fine or clamping. No cars can be left in the overflow parking area overnight.

The bar closes at 11:30pm and music finishes at 11:45pm. All guests are required to leave the venue by midnight. We appreciate your co-operation in leaving promptly!

If you intend to get a taxi home then please ensure this is booked in advance. For further details please see the Taxis and transport page under Guest Services

The couple arrange welcome drinks and our bar is open from whenever the couple choose to open it - this is often after the ceremony or wedding breakfast. You will of course be enjoying fantastic food throughout the day as laid on by the couples chosen caterer!

Besides that we are a focused wedding venue and there are no food and drink offerings available. Please note the bar does not sell bar snacks as usually the food is more than plentiful and constant throughout the day!

For more information on the bar please see the bar and drinks section.

We have a dedicated baby change room with a few little bits to help keep young babies entertained.

We have a lake on site and although there is some protection on the main building side, toddlers and older children do need to be watched at all times. We are a family business with younger children of our own so we fully understand the challenges, but we stress that it is the responsibility of all parents to look after their children and ensure safety and manage their behaviour at all times.

We do benefit from our own private 23 acre golf course that is shut to the public on wedding days so there is ample space for children to let off steam! We are more than happy for impromtu games of football or other games out on the course.

Yes. From the lower car park there is a disabled ramp that provides step free access around to the rear terrace through the green gates to the right of the barn and around the barn walkway. Please follow the disabled access signs.

There are level thresholds into the barn through all doors and access to the lounge and bar alongside the barn from the walkway. We have a wheelchair lift onsite that provides access from the walkway to the main terrace which otherwise requires the navigation of three step. If you are likely to need use of the lift please ensure you let the couple know in advance so we can ensure it is ready and in place. On the day please ask any member of staff for assistance.

There is also a disabled toilet beyond the bar area - please follow the signs inside or ask any member of staff for directions.

We remain flexible about smoking outside the buildings and do not restrict smoking to certain areas only. There is a substantial undercover sitting area on the rear terrace and a small undercover immediately outside the barn where you are free to smoke in the case of bad weather.

We ask that all smokers use the cigarette ash buckets that are dotted around the outside spaces to ensure we can continue to allow smoking in all areas! Please be aware that as you would expect in such a venue, all our indoor areas, including toilets are fitted with sensitive smoke alarms.
