What makes Brookfield Barn different?

Brookfield Barn is purpose-built, family run and entirely exclusive to you on your wedding day, with indoor and outdoor licensed ceremony areas both with spectacular views over the natural lake and golf course. Mixing the rustic handcrafted oak barn with contemporary styling gives the venue a charming, yet fresh and polished look combined with all the tech and understanding of a modern couple's ideal wedding day. All nestled down a quiet country lane in the Sussex countryside. The venue also offers a large, built-in bar with draught beers and an extensive wine and cocktail menu, plus the lounge area, south facing terrace, golf course, seven bedrooms, dedicated prep room for the wedding morning and a professional grade catering kitchen. Plus, a host of benefits like no corkage charge, a webstreaming option, a friendly and experienced events team working on the day and a selection of expert external caterers.

What is included in the venue hire charge?

Full pricing information available to view here. Entirely exclusive use of the venue, grounds and golf course on your wedding day. Tables and chairs in the barn, as well as bar staff and event management. Optional webstreaming of your ceremony and speeches, integrated music and PA system and customisable lighting options in the barn. Additionally, a selection of optional decorative extras available to you at no extra cost - cake stand and knife, bunting in the barn, easel and frame for a table plan, postbox for cards, some A4 size chalkboard signs in frames such as 'Choose a Seat not a Side' and 'Sign our Guestbook'. The prep room is available from 9am on the wedding morning and the honeymoon suite is available on your wedding night, both included in the venue hire charge. The remaining 6 guest rooms are available to your chosen guests, view prices and more information here. The 9 hole golf course is available to you all day, whether to let kids loose on or for a round or two - but please note that clubs must be bought by you. The most popular option for making use of the course is for the groom and some of his guests to play in the morning before heading to the prep room/their hotel to get ready.

What if the weather's bad on the wedding day?

Once indoors, all the main wedding areas are connected, so there's no need for guests to be running through a shower to get to another area of the venue. The bar and lounge can comfortably accommodate your guests for the parts of the day when the barn is unavailable. The barn enjoys underfloor heating and there's a covered area on the terrace. Although it's unlikely it would rain all day, the pergoda in the outside wedding area and sometimes the barn can be used for covered photos. The view over the lake and grounds is gorgeous year round and in all weathers, hopefully evident in our galleries from across the seasons.

What is the capacity of Brookfield Barn?

Brookfield Barn is licensed for 120 guests during the day, for your ceremony and wedding breakfast and up to 160 guests in the evening. These numbers do include you as the couple and any children or babies.

Can same sex couples marry at Brookfield Barn?

Absolutely! We have enjoyed many same sex weddings here and are well versed in double aisle entrances, if that's something you'd be interested in.

Is the golf course available on the wedding day?

Yes, our 9 hole course is entirely yours on your wedding day, but please note you'll need to bring your own clubs. The most popular option for making use of the course is for the groom and some select guests to play in the morning, before heading to the prep room/their hotel to get ready. Later in the day, the golf course can be used for games, couple's shots, group shots or just to let kids loose on.

Does Brookfield Barn do Christmas weddings?

Unfortunately not, as a family run venue we close for the Christmas and New Year period. Other availability is outlined on our live availability calendar.

How does the booking process work?

After enquiring, we will be pleased to arrange a viewing with you and one of the owners or events team to look around and discuss how Brookfield Barn can bring your dream day to life. Following a viewing, you are able to reserve a date for 10 days. During the reservation period, we suggest that you book your registrar or church and investigate the catering options, to ensure that they offer what you're looking for and have availability on your date. Your booking would be confirmed on receipt of your signed wedding agreement and a 50% deposit of the venue hire charge. We also require couples to take out wedding insurance (typically around £80) before or shortly after booking. The remaining 50% of the venue hire charge is due 8 weeks before your wedding date.

Is it possible to just have a reception at Brookfield Barn?

Yes, if you're interested in marrying at a church on the day, or somewhere else entirely, we'll be ready and waiting to welcome you here for your reception afterwards. We require all weddings to involve a sit down wedding breakfast, so it is not possible to hold only an evening reception here but most other formats work. You're still welcome to use the prep room and/or golf course in the morning. The venue hire charge is not affected if you choose to have your ceremony elsewhere on the day.
